I am a BSc Honours Quantity Surveying student at Nelson Mandela University, Port Elizabeth. In partial fulfilment of my degree, I am required to conduct a research treatise.

This study aims to investigate the most recurrent barriers to the implementation of lean management as a competitive tool in QS firms. Despite a few studies directed towards strategic planning and competitive strategy implementation, limited research has been conducted with the intent to investigate the impediment of competitive strategy implementation in Quantity Surveying firms.

Your knowledge and experience of competitive strategy implementation will provide insight on the most important management tools used for increased competitiveness as well as the most recurrent barriers to the implementation of lean management as a competitive tool in QS firms.

Please note that to participate in the study, it is required that you hold a managerial position or assume a managerial role within the firm. Please note that responses to the questionnaire will be treated with strict confidentiality, no individual names will be disclosed at any stage of the study. Participation is voluntary and you may refuse to participate at any time. The survey should take approximately 10-15 minutes to complete.
